Baiba Skride’s natural approach to her music-making has endeared her to some of today’s most important conductors and orchestras worldwide. She is consistently invited for her refreshing interpretations, her sensitivity and delight in the music.

The list of prestigious orchestras with whom she has worked include the Berliner Philharmoniker, Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, Boston and Chicago Symphony Orchestras, New York Philharmonic, Concertgebouworkest, Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, Orchestre de Paris, London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and NHK Symphony Orchestra.

Notable conductors she collaborates with include Marin Alsop, Christoph Eschenbach, Ed Gardner, Susanna Mälkki, Andris Nelsons, Andres Orozco-Estrada, Santtu-Matias Rouvali, Andris Poga, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Tugan Sokhiev, John Storgårds and Juraj Valcuha.

In the 2020/21 season Skride performs Sofia Gubaidulina’s “Offertorium” with Berliner Philharmoniker and Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, both under the baton of Andris Nelsons.

She also looks forward to the US premiere of Victoria Borisova-Ollas’ Violin Concerto “A Portrait of a Lady by Swan Lake” with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Other season highlights include a European tour with the Wiener Symphoniker and Alain Altinoglu as well as concerts with orchestras such as the Bamberger Symphoniker, Oslo Philharmonic, Copenhagen Philharmonic, Tapiola Sinfonietta, RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre National de Belgique, Philharmonie Zuidnederlands and Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana.

Further afield this season, she also works with the Minnesota Orchestra, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra as well as New Japan Philharmonic, Taipei Symphony and Melbourne Symphony Orchestras.
