Today prize-winner of the international violin competitions David Oistrakh, Carl Flesch and Johannes Brahms, Julia Turnovsky made her solo debut at the age of 13 with the Southwest German Philharmonic Orchestra and has since performed orchestras such as the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra, the Camerata Salzburg, the Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock, the Japan Century Symphony Orchestra and the Prague Chamber Philharmonic.

Chamber music and solo projects will take her, among others, to the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival in the 2021/22 season, to France as well as to France, Cyprus and Japan. Previous and chamber music debuts have already taken Julia Turnovsky to renowned to renowned festivals such as the Prague Spring, the Gstaad Menuhin Festival and the Haydn Festival Eisenstadt as well as in concert halls such as the Vienna Musikverein, the Tonhalle Zurich, the Mozarteum Salzburg and the Rudolfinum Prague.

Julia Turnovsky was born in Vienna and comes from a family of musicians. She received her first violin lessons at the age of five. Between 2000 and 2014 she was taught by Prof. Boris Kuschnir at the Conservatory of Vienna and at the University of Arts in Graz.

Julia Turnovsky plays a violin by Giovanni Battista Guadagnini from Turin, built in the 1770s, which was kindly made available to her by the Austrian National Bank.
